What The New Lockdown Means For Buyers, Sellers, Landlords and Tenants

On Saturday we received confirmation England will go into lockdown from Thursday, November 5 until at least December 2.

So, how will this affect people in the process of moving or thinking about selling in Gee Cross, Romiley, Woodley, Bredbury and surrounding areas?

Well, firstly it’s good news from a property moving perspective because the Housing Minister Robert Jenrick has confirmed that the market is still very much open for business.

QUESTION:

‘Can I still move home?’

ANSWER:

‘Yes – the housing market will remain open throughout this period. Everyone should continue to play their part in reducing the spread of the virus by following the current guidance.’

The Minister has confirmed the following ahead of Thursday’s measures:

  • Renters and homeowners will be able to move
  • Removal firms and estate agents can operate
  • Construction sites can and should continue
  • Tradespeople will be able to enter homes
  • But all MUST follow the COVID safety guidance

At On The Move Property Boutique, we continue to work hard for our sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants in a Covid-19 secure way, while strictly following the regulations laid out by the Government.

If You’re Buying or Selling

  • We will still offer virtual tours and carry out video valuations.
  • We can still conduct “safety first” viewings and valuations using PPE, hand sanitisers and social distancing.
  • We will continue to push hard to progress any sales that are currently going through.
  • And we will keep everyone we work with updated about any changes that may happen.

If You’re Renting & Letting

  • We can still conduct “safety first” viewings using PPE, hand sanitisers and social distancing.
  • Check In and Check Outs will go ahead as planned.
  • We will still carry out inspections safely and sensitively.
  • We remain able to organise maintenance and repairs under the new lockdown.
  • And we will keep everyone we work with updated about any changes that may happen.
